These birds are aviary birds and are not hand-tame, so they are best suited to environments where they can fly, socialise, and behave naturally. They are social birds and must be kept in pairs only, not as single birds.

Fire finches are generally easy to care for and can do well in suitable setups alongside other small, peaceful species.
